Mostra "Crescendo a colori"

Photography Show “Growing Through Colors”

“Growing Through Colors” is my first photography show  which I set up for the inauguration of my Art Photography Studio. It was also on display at the Palazzo della Cultura in Catania during the Yoga Festival 2013 and during Modarte, a prestigous charity fashion event that took place in Rome in July 2013. It consists of 23 photographs that tell the story of the last 6 years of my work through travel, still life and portraits. The observer’s eye follows a world “in color” through several trips that I photographed and laid out according to criteria that  become the passport for a personal itinerary for the observer too. From Egypt which is suspended in light blue, the sand and nomads in the desert, it passes to darker blues, captured in the form of artistic Venetian details ending up in a frenzied representation of New York, imagined as a single compulsive circular movement.

Moving through the different countries, in a symphonic crescendo towards warmer colors, one finds water that has been painted red and orange, with colors that become almost an obsession, a perspective from which to scrutinize the world and its secrets. The Mediterranean landscapes make room for the Orient: India, Bali and the organges that seem to magically tie professions and religions with the Indian’s saris of Udaipur. The “Voice of the Suk”, details shot inside a Riad during the artist’s Maroccan trip, guides us into the mysteries of the Medina in Marrakesch. The wide range of  colors closes with the black and white of a New York City winter, shown through an HDR technique with a ‘comics‘ effect, which puts the emphasis on the absence of color.

In an apparent counter-tendency to the latest  trend, I enjoy capturing the positive aspects of reality, showing my personal chromatic perception of life, giving free reign to my emotions and welcoming you to my interior colors.
